Building Bridges, Sharing Joy: Witnessing to Other Worldviews
By En-Joy Ministries

At En-Joy Ministries, we believe that sharing the gospel is a joyful privilege, a call to connect with others in love and truth. Jesus modeled this beautifully when He met the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:4-42), engaging her with respect and offering living water that spoke to her deepest needs. Witnessing to those with different worldviews requires intentionality—building bridges of relationship, finding common ground, and sharing the gospel with grace. Here’s how we can live out this calling, inspired by Scripture and the example of Christ.

Building Bridges of Relationship
Relationships are the heartbeat of witnessing. Jesus dined with tax collectors and sinners (Matthew 9:10-13), showing that love and presence open doors to the gospel. To connect with those of other worldviews, approach them with genuine care, as Paul did in Athens (Acts 17:16-34), observing and engaging with their culture respectfully. Ask questions, listen deeply, and share life together—whether over coffee or a community project. Proverbs 17:17 reminds us, “A friend loves at all times,” encouraging us to build trust without an agenda. When we reflect Christ’s love through authentic friendship, we create space for the Holy Spirit to move, just as Jesus did with Zacchaeus, whose heart was transformed through a single meal (Luke 19:1-10).

Building Bridges of Agreement
Finding common ground helps others see the gospel as relevant. When Paul addressed the Athenians, he noted their altar to an “unknown god” (Acts 17:23), using their beliefs as a starting point to share Christ. Similarly, we can identify shared values—like compassion, justice, or the search for meaning—and affirm these as reflections of God’s truth. For example, if someone values community, we might point to Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, “Two are better than one… for if they fall, one will lift up his fellow.” By acknowledging these shared desires, we show humility and build trust, avoiding debates that create walls. Like Jesus with the woman at the well, who connected over her longing for fulfillment, we can frame the gospel as the answer to universal hopes, gently inviting others to consider Christ.

Sharing the Gospel
Sharing the gospel is about joyfully presenting Jesus as the source of life. In John 4:13-14, Jesus told the Samaritan woman, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again.” Share your story of how Christ has brought joy and purpose to your life, making it personal and relatable. Be clear but gentle, tailoring the message to their worldview—perhaps highlighting forgiveness to someone seeking peace or hope to someone facing despair. When objections arise, respond with patience, as Peter advises: “Always be prepared to give an answer… with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15). Most importantly, live the gospel—let your actions reflect Christ’s love, as the early church did, whose generosity led others to faith (Acts 2:44-47). Invite, don’t pressure, trusting the Spirit to work in their hearts.

At En-Joy Ministries, we’re passionate about sharing the joy of Christ with the world. By building relationships, finding common ground, and sharing the gospel with love, we can reflect Jesus’ heart for all people. Let’s step out in faith, inspired by His example, and watch how God uses our efforts to draw others to His eternal joy.
