In the New Testament, worshippers often experienced the supernatural during their acts of worship. The first worshippers of the infant Jesus witnessed angelic appearances and supernatural signs in the heavens. According to Acts 2, the early disciples were baptized in the Holy Spirit, marked by extraordinary signs, as they worshipped together on the Day of Pentecost. Furthermore, The early Christian church often witnessed miraculous signs and wonders, filling them with awe during their worship gatherings. This phenomenon should be commonplace in today’s church as well. Paul’s letters to the Corinthians indicate that supernatural manifestations were a common feature of their worship services, encouraging them to embrace a variety of spiritual gifts. In Revelation 1, John the Apostle describes encountering profound revelations and visitations from heavenly beings while worshipping in exile on the island of Patmos. Both the Old and New Testaments reveal that worshippers were transformed when God met them through the Holy Spirit’s power, manifesting His presence among them.
