Say what you will about Tesla, but it’s an extraordinary story. The company leads the charge in innovative applications of AI, on the brink of leveraging this technology to an unprecedented degree. Their advancements in robotics, machine learning, and manufacturing are unparalleled. Moreover, Tesla has managed to create a successful automotive company in an industry once dominated by labor unions, which have repeatedly required taxpayer bailouts.
Take Meta, for example. What do they actually produce? Primarily, it’s advertising and social interaction platforms. However, they’ve been accused of suppressing free speech, manipulating news, spreading misinformation, and even playing a role in the alleged manipulation of a presidential election. If you can invest in Meta and still look at yourself in the mirror, that’s your choice; I’ll pass.
I’m not a fan of Jeff Bezos, but Amazon undeniably provides a massive service and employs countless people worldwide. These are the kinds of companies that contribute positively to society. Similarly, while I have reservations about Bill Gates, I use his products and prefer Windows and the Microsoft Office suite over alternatives.
We live in a culture where people might invest in a $0.18 meme coin like $TRUMP, which can skyrocket to $80, yet label Elon Musk a “Nazi” or a “clown.” Musk might well be one of the most innovative individuals of the last century. NASA turned to him to rescue stranded astronauts because he has made rocket science look almost routine with his development of reusable rockets that can be caught mid-air. Can anyone else claim to do that? It’s time to face reality.
