Confusion and its detrimental effects

Have you observed the increased FUD: fear, uncertainty, and doubt in our culture? I find it rather alarming that pastors are not teaching/offering practical advice or suggestions on how to strengthen belief and overcome doubts. These are real and spreading issues among professing believers; this leads to confusion.

Nehemiah 4:8 “And all of them conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion”. Recognize that the enemy tries to attack the work of God by bringing confusion.

When things are not clearly communicated, when people simply don’t know what is next, or when they cannot see their way ahead, it is easy for confusion or misconceptions to settle in. It is said that being in a state of confusion means: not being able to think clearly or quickly; feeling disoriented; struggling to pay attention, making decisions, or even remembering things correctly.

Do you see how confusion is used by the enemy and why we should specifically pray and be on guard against it?

In the Bible, 1 Corinthians 14:33 says, “God is not a God of confusion but of peace”. This verse is part of a passage that discusses problems the Corinthians had with speaking in tongues and prophesying during worship, prayer, and teaching. Paul tells the Corinthians that everything should be done in order because God is not the author of confusion.

The spirit of confusion is a weapon of the enemy. It unleashes demonic activity through mental, emotional, or physical confusion to manipulate and assault our minds.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

We are to be transformed by a renewed mind committed to the ideals of the kingdom of God. Let the Bible transform your mind. Think and act God’s way every day.

The Bible verse that says “think on these things” is Philippians 4:8. The verse says:

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”.

Paul reminds us that we must constantly reject those things that do not draw us closer to God and consciously focus on the things that do.
