Tell the Truth to Each Other
“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20. An Ambassador represents a king, a leader in word and truth confidently for Him. In Word and Truth: There is a current crisis in truth-telling. We are, to tell the truth to each other.
Do Not Grieve the Spirit
Eph 4:25
Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.
This is a strong urge aimed at addressing the areas if Christian speech and conduct for motivating reasons.
Col 3:9-10
“Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in the knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.”
Focus interest and ambition heavenward entails casting away specific vices and cultivating certain virtues. Sins of self-indulgence: attitude, speech, and prejudice of the mind must be put to death once and for all. Christ must govern and be the goal of the relationship and worship of the children of God.
1 Pet 2:1
“Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking”
Genuine love for the brethren and eager desire for the Word (gospel) go together and result in spiritual growth (2) as newborn babies, desire the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby, (3) if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
This milk is a special kind of feeding.
Seek to be honest, sincere, and pure in all relationships. Thirst for God’s Word. Apply it to your life so you will grow. We are washed in the blood of Jesus Christ., which makes us holy. The Holy Spirit sets us apart for the purpose of obedience and holy living. Live in holiness and honor the Lord., knowing that your salvation was bought at the great and precious price of His own blood. In response to all that the Lord has done for you, dedicated the rest of your days to do His will.
1 Pet 3:10-12.
For” He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers, But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil
