This premise that the police are routinely engaging in police brutality against black people, the evidence doesn’t support that. Police shootings over the last 45 years have gone down drastically, down 75% in fact, against black people according to the CDC. Every year about a 1000 people are shot by police… (Over the last several years). A handful of them have been unarmed, as in 6% , and a small number of that 6% have been unarmed blacks. It is extremely rare. The studies are showing that not only is it not true that black people are being disproportionately killed by police because of their race, studies are showing police are even more reluctant, more hesitant to pull the trigger against black people. I was an eye witness to this very thing in the summer of 2015 and was interviewed by the police. If your wondering, it was in the Fineview neighborhood in Pittsburgh’s Northside. Anyways and Furthermore, there was a study done by a black Harvard economist and he said it was the most surprising result of his career because he assumed it would show the opposite. So this narrative is simply not true. The police are being maligned unfairly. What happened to Floyed should have never happened and justice is moving swiftly. Do not see a black man murdered by a white cop but instead see an innocent man murdered by a corrupt cop.
