Shaken Faith

Anyone’s faith can be shaken, doubts can creep in especially when we become aware of our own imperfections. Our imperfections are just that but, as a believer, your identity is in Christ– you are who He says you are. Even as a man walking on earth, Jesus knew he was the Son of God and heard Him confirm it, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). As soon as you become aware of your faith’s imperfection, admit it, and speak to Jesus, ““I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mk9:24).  The Dad of a demon-possessed child did just that in that passage. When faith is put into action it’s called believing. Admitting and asking Jesus to remove the doubt is an action. Never underestimate the power of belief, Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness and he was called a friend of God. Abraham loved God and he entrusted his entire life to God. Abraham understood that faith worked through love and that a faith that works, works through love. This will produce a change in life, it’s how followers of Christ should live. Its also how David strengthened himself in the Lord that we read throughout the Psalms. We show our faith by our actions. By our fruits, we are known. See yourself through the eyes of your Father and declare what He says about you.
