I love my children dearly with all my heart

Though I made a sad mistake right from the start.

By not showing them more understanding, affection and care

Now they are all grown and have nice families.

I am proud of them and thank God for my little family of five.

As I look back I wonder how they all stayed alive

With all the hard work that they had to do

The daily routine that they went through

They worked in the field day after day

With never a thought of money or pay-

They were all sweet and kind, honest and true

Never refuse anything that I asked them to do

They gave me courage, strength and vim

I could not have survived had it not been for them

I hope they forgive me for the mistakes that I made

And I will just keep on loving them

Until to rest I am laid, they were and are a blessing to me

God bless and keep them close to thee
